Work begins Monday on intersection of Highways 2 and 13 in Bayfield County

Work is expected to begin on reconstruction of the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Wisconsin Highway 13 in Bayfield County Monday. The Bayfield County road work will continue through September, according to the Wisconsin Department of Education.

The highway will be open to traffic at all times. However, all Highway 2 traffic will be shifted onto the existing eastbound roadway so there will be two-way traffic with no median. Temporary traffic signals will be installed and become active in mid-May and will run until sometime in early September. The speed limit in the area will be reduced on Highway 2 from 55 to 45 mph.
