Over the next two years, the county treasurer, register of deeds and county clerk will see a modest bump in pay, keeping their salaries in line with those of the clerk of courts and sheriff’s increases when those salaries were set two years ago.

But in the last two years of the terms of the county’s constitutional officers, won’t receive a pay increase.

The county board set the new salaries last week.

In 2013, the respective officers — elected by the public in November — will receive a 1.5 percent pay increase, setting the salaries at $58.912.11. In 2014, those salaries will increase 2 percent to 60,090.35 where they will remain in 2015 and 2016 for the total annual compensation.

The change in benefits is expected to cost the county an additional $3,070 in 2013 and $4,191 in 2014.

On the last night the 28-member board met, the board also approved a resolution opposing the possible closure of the Brule River Fish Hatchery.

Tuesday night, the board met for the first time as a 21-member board, with three new members being sworn in. Robert Mock, Sam Pomush and Marvin Finendale joined the board after the April 3 election.

During the reorganizational meeting of the Douglas County Board, Doug Finn was elected board chairman; Alan Jaques, first vice chair; Kay Johnson second vice chair; and Larry Quam, third vice chair.
