Superior Optimists pick students Johnson, Larson

Dylan Johnson and Elora Larson, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for the month of March.

Dylan Johnson and Elora Larson, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for the month of March.

Dylan participates in SHS Quiz Bowl, FBLA, DECA and Forensics, and has placed at state events. He is a member of the Teenage Republicans Club and volunteers for election events. He is enrolled with the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program. His plans for after high school are to attend the University of Minnesota to obtain, eventually, a doctorate kinesiology with an emphasis in sports medicine. He is the son of Dawn and Terry Johnson.

Elora is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in SHS Harvard United Nations, and marching and pep band. She was a youth representative for Superior Days and volunteers for after-school tutoring. She hopes to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to major in business. She is the daughter of Tina Larson.

The students have been joining the Optimist Club for weekly luncheon meetings. They will have the opportunity next fall to apply for a $1,000 community service award sponsored by the club.
