The Superior High School girls soccer teams let a few goals slip by early in the game Thursday, but the Spartans rallied quickly and came away with a 4-2 victory over Barron.
The Spartan girls are now 4-1 in the Middle Border Conference and 4-3 overall.
Barron scored both of its goals in the first 15 minutes of play but then wasn’t able to put another shot on goal the rest of the game.
Kailey Buhr scored Superior’s first goal in the 22nd minute, assisted by Cassie Hanson, and Bridget Manion, assisted by Catie Albrecht, tied the game early in the second half on a corner kick. Hanson went on to score the game-winner 14 minutes later, and Amber Holt added an insurance goal in the final minute.
Superior outshot Barron 18-2 for the game. Sara Balcer picked up the win in goal, and Barron’s Dana Ekenstedt finished with 14 saves.
