WDIO promotes from within

WDIO/WIRT has promoted Hartley Schilling to assistant chief engineer, according to Chief Engineer Mike Hatelstad.

In 1982, Schilling began his career at WDIO/WIRT in the production department, and later became the station’s commercial photographer.

A position he held for 10 years. Since 2000, he has been working in the engineering department.

“I am grateful for this opportunity,” Schilling said. “I’m prepared and ready to keep the station moving forward in this digital world.”

Hatlestad said Hartley is already a valuable asset to the department and station.

Schilling has also been employed by Aguar Film & Video in Athens, Ga and Parthe’ Film & Video in Duluth, MN.

Schilling began his new duties March 14.
