Superior Middle School archers excel at state competition

The Superior Middle School archery club has onece again qualified for the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) National Tournament while individuals from both the high school and sixth-grade team advanced as well.

The National Tournament runs May 13-14 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky. The Superior students qualified through competition at the Wisconsin State NASP Championship March 30-31.

Individually, Superior had six students place in the top five percent for their divisions.

At the middle school level, Daisy White and Bryttnie Fanaselle were the top finishers. White was the top finisher for seventh-grade girls, and Fanaselle was No. 4 among eighth-grade girls.

Drake Samarzia was third among sixth-grade boys and seventh overall in the Elementary School Division, while Macy Lee took third among sixth-grade girls and fifth overall.

Superior’s strongest showing of the tournament came at the high school level, where both John Nowicki and Alisha Moran qualified for the national competition.

Moran’s score of 278 put her third among all female archers, regardless of division, and second among high school juniors.

Nowicki was fourth among high school boys with a score of 280 and was the top senior in the state.
