Good Friday

Pilgrim Congregational Church hosts a Good Friday Tenebrae Service, featuring the combined choirs from Pilgrim, Peace United Church of Christ and Glen Avon Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. today. Meditations will focus on the final words Jesus spoke from the cross. Music directors are Jack Bowman, Jim Pospisil, Nancy Nielson and Velda Bell. Go to pilgrimduluth.org.

Easter events

Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W. Superior St., Duluth, holds a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. today. The following day the church also hosts an Easter egg event 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday with games, crafts, snacks, coffee bar for parents and an egg hunt. A “30 Below” worship service starts at 7 p.m. Saturday for all ages. Easter Sunday, the church offers a free breakfast 9-10 a.m. with Easter services at 10:30 a.m. For information, call (218) 722-1928.

Families are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt followed by games and Easter crafts starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St., Duluth. Activities include an Easter Egg Hunt, an egg roll, Easter crafts including egg and cookie decorating, a cakewalk, relay races and a visit by the Easter bunny. Parents and grandparents will be able to participate with their youngsters. Free and open to the community.

Men’s breakfast

King’s Men, an ecumenical men’s breakfast, meets at 6:45 a.m. Thursday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap St. Each month the group meets for breakfast, fellowship and a presentation. This month’s speaker is Superior Mayor Bruce Hagen. All men of the community are invited. Call ahead at (715) 392-4731 if possible, but drop-ins are welcome. A free will offering is received for the meal and the morning is complete no later than 7:30 a.m.
