Benedict Motis, 73, of Wascott, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth after a short battle with myelo fibrosis.

Benedict Motis, 73, of Wascott, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth after a short battle with myelo fibrosis.

Ben was born March 13, 1939 in Starbuck, Minn. and graduated from South Dakota State University where he played football. He served in the Air Force and resided in Okinawa, Japan as part of his duty. Later he enjoyed a successful career with Unisys in the Twin Cities.

Ben was an avid outdoorsman, who instilled great fear in animals furry, feathered and finned. He was a proud member of the Wascott Men's Garden Club. He could fix anything, and was a great teacher and mentor, good friend and was loved by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Christina (Randy) Kline, Suzy (Dan) Cox, and Julianne (Jon) Hanson; grandchildren, Josh, Jack, Lily, Sam, and Henry.

Visitation is at 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial services at St, Mary's Catholic Church in Minong, Wis. on Thursday, April 12.
