Anna Mae Zakowski

Anna Mae Zakowski, 80, lifetime Superior resident, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Superior.

She was born Nov. 17, 1931, in Superior, daughter of Anna (VanDenBerghe) and Alfred LaVallee.

On Dec. 17, 1949, in Superior, Anna Mae LaVallee and John Paul Zakowski were united in marriage.

Anna Mae enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, John in 2002; and brother, Arthur LaVallee.

Survivors include her daughter, Constance "Connie" Nordberg, Superior; son, John (LeeAnn) Zakowski Jr., Wheatland, Wyo.; grandchildren, James Nordberg Jr., Baraboo, Wis., and Sarah Nord, Foxboro; and great-grandson, Zacharie John Nord, Foxboro.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Tuesday, April 3 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior, with the Rev. James Tobolski officiating.

Pallbearers will be Douglas White, John Zakowski Jr., Kyle Thompson, James Nordberg Jr., and Michael Korn.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
