Lake Superior Writers holds an open genre, writing contest for members on the theme “Good Times.”
Genres of poetry (up to three poems), short-short fiction (up to 500 words) and creative non-fiction (up to 1,500 words) will be accepted. Submissions must be postmarked by March 30.
The top entry or author in each genre will receive $150 plus a $50 gift card.
Only members can enter the contest. To become a member, authors can mail in a membership fee of $35 with their contest entry.
This year, the group will also accept entries on the theme “Good Times” from younger writers in two age categories, 6-8 and 9-12. Short-short fiction and up to three poems will be considered. Prizes of $15 will be awarded to the top entry in each age group plus a $5 gift card for each.
Any young writer may submit work in two genres. Their parents do not need to be members of Lake Superior Writers.
