Superior: St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run to benefit “Hunger Takes No Holiday” and the Second Harvest Food Bank begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the run at 8 a.m. The run takes place on the service road between 34th and 31st streets and two laps equals one mile. Don Leighton and the Second Harvest Food Bank are working with Tom and Nancy O’Neill to co-sponsor this event. Registration is a $10 donation to “Hunger Takes No Holiday.” Prizes will be given to the 17th finisher, the best in costume individual and group of 2-4 people.
Ashland: The Northern Waters Library Service board of trustees meets at noon at the NWLS Headquarters.
Superior: The Eagles Auxiliary hosts a card party 1-3 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 1710 N. 12th St. The cost is $4 and lunch is provided. The group will play smear, cribbage, bunco and other games. The auxiliary also hosts a lasagna dinner 5-7 p.m. at the club. The cost is $8 with proceeds earmarked for Bethany Crisis Center.
Duluth: An Irish Ceili Dance starts with instruction at 7 p.m. and the dance at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 1710 E. Superior St. New dancers and singles welcome. The event is smoke and alcohol free. A suggested donation is $8 for adults, $15 for family and $6 for students.

Superior: A meeting of the Community Health Improvement Plan Steering Committee begins at 1 p.m. in Suite 324 at the Government Center, 1316 N. 14th St. The Steering Committee provides oversight and direction to the 2012-16 Community Health Improvement Plan.
Duluth: Mended Hearts Chapter 104 meets at 7 p.m. at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center on the first floor left of the Third Street Entrance. The meeting is free, and will be the first of a series of workshops on “Living Well with Chronic Conditions.”
