The rescue of a trapped bulldozer driver is under way this morning at Midwest Energy Terminal in Superior.
According to radio communications from emergency dispatchers, the bulldozer tipped over on top of a coal pile. Crews called for harnesses, ropes and pry bars and said the driver was breathing as they prepared to free him.
A security guard with Midwest Energy Terminal confirmed that Superior firefighters and police as well as Gold Cross Ambulance had entered the facility, but did not comment on the incident.
From the General Mills Elevators road on the east side of the Midwest property, a number of people in yellow safety vests were seen as they briefly walked along the top of one of the large piles of coal.
