DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Brady Lamb scored two goals, including the game-winner midway through the third period, as Minnesota Duluth beat Minnesota State, Mankato 4-2 in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.
Wade Bergman added an empty-net goal with six seconds left for the Bulldogs (23-8-6), which outshot the Mavericks 38-28.
J.T. Brown also had a goal for Minn. Duluth.
Brown and Lamb staked UMD to a 2-0 lead, but the Mavericks (12-23-2) tied it on goals by Max Gaede and Joe Schiller.
Kenny Reiter had 26 stops for UMD and Austin Lee had 34 stops for MSUM.
UMD is 4-0-1 against MSUM this season.
