Tigers continue to roll
Northwestern High School boys basketball team advances to sectionals with 60-41 victory over Spooner.
The Northwestern High School boys basketball team is on the a roll.
The Tigers, awarded the No. 8 seed in the region, knocked off No. 1-seeded Bloomer Friday and pulled off another upset Saturday with a 60-41 victory over Spooner, the No. 4 seed.
Both Bloomer and Spooner swept Northwestern in regular season play.
The Tigers now advance to the sectional semifinals, held Thursday at New Richmond. Northwestern will play Somerset, which defeated Barron 43-32 Saturday to advance.
Northwestern — Justin Alexson 9, Zak Anttila 5, Matt Hlina 2, Nolan Graff 7, Grant Pearson 2, Brayden Bartelt 5, Micah Olson 3, Gabe Dinkel 6, Wes Ogren 2, Dylan Jardine 19.
Spooner — Austin Hochstetler 9, Gavin Anderson 13, Eric Bitney 4, Bryson Grubbs 9, Levi Hanson 6.
