Duluth: The University Singers and Chamber Singers perform at the Dr. Opheim Memorial Concert at 3 p.m. in the Weber Music Hall at UMD. Opheim taught choral music and conducted at UMD from 1972-1992. About 45 former students of Opheim’s join the current University Singers to launch the Dr. Vernon Opheim Choral Scholarship. Superior: A public meeting on this year’s proposed gypsy moth treatment plan runs 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave. Aerial treatment of about 203,000 acres in 22 counties, including Douglas, is planned by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Those attending the meeting will have the opportunity to speak with program staff, learn more about the program and the pest and view maps of treatment areas.
