Citizens have chance to learn the real story behind the badge
The Superior Police Department has opened registration for its 11th annual Citizens’ Police Academy.

The department’s eight week, nine session program begins March 21 and offers residents information on many law enforcement topics as well as hands-on class experience. Police officers, evidence technicians, supervisors and detectives become teachers to give the community a better understanding of the true nature of police work.
The classes run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each Wednesday, with one session on a Saturday morning.
Candidates must complete an application, live or work in Superior, and be at least 21 years old. They also must pass a basic background check and have no prior felony convictions or habitual violations. The class is free but is limited to 25 participants. The application deadline is Friday, March 9.
