O’Neill, Krause offer Optimists youth

Kali O’Neill and Peter Krause, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for February.

Kali O’Neill and Peter Krause, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for February.

Kali O’Neill participates in high school golf, track, student council, FBLA, and served as the 2010-11 FBLA community officer. She is a member of the Douglas County Youth Leadership and volunteers to help with children’s plays at her church. Kali’s plans after high school are to attend college to pursue a career as a registered nurse. She is the daughter of Tom and Nancy O’Neill.

Peter is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in SHS mock trial and pep band. He is a Boy Scout and volunteers for various activities with his church. Peter hopes to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to major in history with a minor in English. He is the son of Ron and Lynn Krause.

The students have been joining the Optimists Club for weekly luncheon meetings. They will have the opportunity next fall to apply for a $1,000 community service award sponsored by the club.
