Felony drug charges have been filed in Douglas County Circuit Court against a Superior man and woman accused of selling stolen morphine pills for $10 apiece.
Michael Steven Tyler Rea, 22, faces three counts felony delivery of schedule II narcotics and one count felony delivery of schedule II narcotics as a party to a crime.
Deeanna Marie Crist, 25, faces three counts felony delivery of schedule II narcotics as a party to a crime and one count felony delivery of schedule II narcotics.
The charges stem from four drug buys made in November and December in Superior.
Rea and Crist made their initial appearances in court on Feb. 10. Each was released on a $2,000 signature bond with the condition that they not possess or use drugs or drug paraphernalia.
Crist waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday and was scheduled for an arraignment on March 30. A preliminary hearing Wednesday set for Rea was rescheduled for March 14.
According to the criminal complaint:
Rea and Crist sold morphine during four drug buys monitored by Superior police. After being arrested, both admitted selling morphine pills. They said they’d been selling or trading the pills, which Crist stole from her grandmother, for six months. The two initially traded the pills for marijuana, Rea said.
If convicted they face a maximum sentence of 15 years and a fine of up to $50,000 for each count.
