LETTER: Democrats don’t get it on jobs

Our Democrat president said he was going to focus on jobs like a laser, but he denies construction of an oil pipeline that would have created tens of thousands of jobs for middle class families in America. In addition, this new supply would also help ease the cost of energy for working class families.
Democrats like to claim they are for economic justice, living wage jobs and smart growth, but in reality, they would rather turn places like Wisconsin into a park if commodity extraction upset their emotional work view. Dems would rather hug a tree than a working man.
I see a trend from the local level all the way to the White House: Democrats have their heads stuck in a deep dark cave when it comes to economics and prosperity.
Some local Democrats are against frac sand mining, Democrat Sen. Bob Jauch of Poplar is against iron mining in Wisconsin, and our Democrat president is against a pipeline. All of these projects will bring much needed jobs and tax revenue to our country. For Democrats, I believe C.A.V.E means Citizens Against Virtually Everything.
I think Democrat Senator Bob Jauch should remove his head from his cave and get in touch with the working man. News flash for all Democrats, the working man wants a paycheck not an unemployment check. So, Bob, stop the whining, start the mining.
Tom Gjerde,
Birchwood, Wis.
