The Timmers Building is filling up. AirFiber, Inc., a high quality internet service provider, took residence in suite 101 in January. Wine Beginnings has also moved to a new spot in the building to make room for an expansion at Serenity Spa & Salon. The business has added eight more styling stations, two new spa rooms and new services.
The salon expansion is almost a mirror image of the original space, tucked into the former Wine Beginnings shop. Serenity owner Jolene Sajec-Timmers said keeping a wall between the two spaces allowed her to double the shop space while retaining the small salon feeling.
Four more independent stylists/technicians have joined the Serenity team, renting spaces at the new shop, which opened for business Jan. 9. New services, including ear candling, cosmetic permanent tattooing and nail formations are also available.
“We have an amazing team of independent entrepreneurs, master stylists and spa technicians,” Timmers said.
Esthetician Lynn Kubiak brings 10 years of experience to the Serenity Spa. She provides services such as chemical peels, facials, chemical resurfacing and facial, leg and bikini waxing.
Healtherlee Wilmont has been a stylist for 17 years.
“I’ve been everywhere,” she said, and worked with many of the Serenity stylists before at different salons. Wilmont said she was drawn to the business because she enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and teamwork at Serenity.
“I love it here,” said Lesa Raihala, who started at Serenity last week. She brings 11 years of experience in the beauty business with her to the shop.
Starting March 1, a nail technician will offer a wide array of new services, including fiberglass, gel and acrylic nail formations. The salon carries a number of different product lines, including Kenra, Bedhead, paul Mitchell, S Factor, Rekin, Moroccan Oil, the Fresh spa line, Oxygen Botanicals and Intiglio chemical peels.
Ruth Knudson of Superior has been stopping by the salon for pedicures and maincures since it opened.
“It’s relaxed and fun,” she said.
