Kevin C. Kronlund, 54, a resident of Spooner, died Feb. 8, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth after a tragic accident.
Kevin C. Kronlund, 54, a resident of Spooner, died Feb. 8, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth after a tragic accident.
Kevin was born May 19, 1957 in Spooner to Charles and Betty (Margraf) Kronlund.
Kevin was a cranberry grower here in the area. Kevin was a member of the Spooner United Methodist Church. He was a very active community member offering his time to a number of organizations. He was a proud and very active member of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association which he took great pride in and had served on the board of directors. He was also involved in the Red Arrow Group, served on the board of the Veterans Memorial, the Richard L. Bong Veterans Historical Center and owner of the War Birds North. Kevin was always found during parade season in one of his several vehicles during the Shell Lake parade, the Spooner Rodeo parade, Veteran's Day parade, and the July 4th Superior parade. He was a proud member of the honor guard.
Kevin is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Thea; children Kasey Kronlund, Kara (Travis) Breitenfeld, Alyssa Kronlund, Raquel Woodis and Monique (Tom) Clark; grandchildren Noah Kronlund-Tubbs, Carson Kronlund, Noah and Lauren Woodis, Ashleigh and Reagan Clark, baby Kronlund due in just a few weeks; his parents Charles (Betty) Kronlund; sister Kristin Duckart; nephews Jon and Erik; his dogs Popie and Lilly; Ben the bird; his cats Shadow and Honey; 13 hens and a rooster; many bears, raccoons, deer, foxes, chipmunks, gophers, birds and thousands of geese amongst other forest animals that he fed every day!
Kevin was a caring and giving person; he continued that in death through the gift of organ/tissue donation.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 13 at the Spooner Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jack Starr officiating. Music was provided by Jo Henriksen and Pat Taylor. Pallbearers were Kasey Kronlund, Tom Clark, Brent Melton, Travis Breitenfeld, Jeff Fox, Leonard Scalzo, Ron (Rosco) Bowers, and Sjoerd Spans. Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Durand, Lee Norton, Joey Norton, Larry Margraf, Rick Coquillette, Erik Duckart, Ray Patton and Jon Duckart. Arrangements were entrusted to Taylor Family Funeral Home, Spooner.
