On Dec. 13, Pastor S. Jerome Elness, a man who has dedicated his life to spreading God’s word, announced that he would be resigning as pastor at Our Redeemer’s Free Lutheran Church.
This he said he felt was necessary because of his ill health.
His resignation was effective as of Dec. 25, after Our Redeemer’s Christmas service.
Members of the church would like to honor his dedication to his life work of more than years as God’s servant. This service consisted of many years as a missionary in China and as pastor in many churches in Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota.
The last 16 years, he has been the pastor at Our Redeemer’s.
Church members plan to honor Elness’ dedication and birthday at the “Invite a Friend” service Sunday at Our Redeemer’s Free Lutheran Church, 2125 Missouri Ave., Superior.
