Prayer vigil for victim of gun violence in Superior

A prayer vigil will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of North 12th Street and Banks Avenue to remember Toriano Dawen Cooper, a victim of gun violence in Superior.

A prayer vigil will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of North 12th Street and Banks Avenue to remember Toriano Dawen Cooper, a victim of gun violence in Superior.

Cooper was shot and killed in front of his home at 1901 N. 12th St. in Superior Jan. 14.

The prayer vigil is being organized by the Superior Area Ministerium (SAM),

The ecumenical group of clergy in the Superior area to draw attention to gun violence in our area in August 2010 after Matthew Magdzas shot and killed his pregnant wife, daughter and three dogs.

The public is welcome and encouraged to join.
