Rock steps up as assistant director for Catholic Charities

Rock serves as Controller of Challenge Center Inc., an affiliate agency of Catholic Charities Bureau, which serves people with developmental disabilities in the greater Douglas County area. Catholic Charities provides healthcare, housing and human services throughout northern Wisconsin and northeastern Minnesota.

As associate director, Rock will provide the organizational oversight of the combined agencies serving men, women and children with developmental disabilities in Medford, Rhinelander, Siren and Superior. He will also continue to work with the Challenge Center.

“All of us at Catholic Charities consider Mr. Rock to be a professional of the highest caliber who has outstanding organizational leadership skills that will assist us in advancing the social ministry of the Diocese of Superior,” Soland said.

Prior to coming to the Challenge Center in 1997, Rock’s professional experience included positions with U.S. Filter in Minneapolis and Concerned Care Inc., in Kansas City, Mo.

As an active community volunteer Rock has served as president of the Superior Rotary Club, and he’s an active leader with the Boy Scouts.

Rock and his family are members of St. Michael’s Catholic Parish in Duluth. He and his wife, Stephanie have four children, Derrick, Karl, Simon and Faith.

He assumed his new duties Jan. 3.
