Duluth: After 11 Years as executive director of Men as Peacemakers, Frank Jewell is stepping aside to focus on his work as county commissioner. Ed Heisler was hired as the new executive director, and started Jan. 3. Men as Peacemakers hold an open house 5-8 p.m. to introduce Heisler and recognize Jewell’s contributions.

Thursday

Duluth: The National Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees meeting begins at 1 p.m. at the West Duluth American Legion Clubrooms. Included in the regular business will be a legislative report by National Legislative Committeeman Glen Nelson, membership reports and an attendance drawing.

Superior: Superior Eagles Club, 1710 N. 12th St., hosts a meat raffle at 6 p.m. Proceeds support local and national charities.

Superior: Chapter E, PEO Sisterhood, meets at 7 p.m. at the home of Deborah Lucci, 2431 Wyoming Ave. The program, “Founders Day-A Look Back” is presented along with the president’s letter to be read by Roberta Lindemann. Hostesses are Deborah Lucci, Susan Horvath and Kathy Berchild.
