LETTER: Trust in Him to overcome

To the Telegram: In many ways, this world is what you make of it with wars, dissention, troubles, sickness, pain and political chicanery. I don’t know about you, but to me it seems like it is getting worse.

To the Telegram:

In many ways, this world is what you make of it with wars, dissention, troubles, sickness, pain and political chicanery. I don’t know about you, but to me it seems like it is getting worse.

However, Jesus came as a baby in an animal feed trough, born to poor Jewish maiden who traveled by donkey and lived under the oppression of the ruthless Roman Empire. Her betrothed husband, had to take his new family on a hurried journey to far away Egypt to avoid the edict of cruel Governor Herod who proposed to kill all the newborn boys in Bethlehem.

That little lower-class baby was to become the one who proclaimed himself the Savior of the world. After a public ministry of teaching and miraculous good deeds, he died an unjust cruel death as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. This is the one who said: “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We know this to be true because He showed himself to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead. He lives today. Trust in Him and you too can overcome the trials of this world with eternal life. Merry Christmas to all.
