One killed in single vehicle rollover
A Bayfield man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover, and one of the people who reported the accident was injured when she tried to get closer to the scene.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Department, the county’s emergency communications center started to receive several calls shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday about a vehicle found in a ditch on State Highway 13 near Mission Springs Road in the town of Barksdale; the driver appeared to be trapped in the vehicle.
Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office, Washburn Fire and EMS and the Ashland Ambulance Intercept responded to the call.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Timothy J. Funk, 42, of Bayfield. Funk was fatally injured the crash.
The preliminary investigation shows Funk was heading north on Highway 13, crossed the southbound lane, went into and through the ditch on the west side of Highway 13, became air borne going over Boyd Creek and hit the north side embankment causing the vehicle to flip and land on its roof.
One of the initial 911 callers was found injured at the scene and was identified as Deborah Compton, 54, of Ashland.
Compton was located under the bridge. It is believed she attempted to get closer to the accident vehicle and fell between 15-and 20-feet to concrete under the bridge.
Compton was transport to Ashland Memorial Medical Center, then flown by helicopter to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. Her current medical condition is unknown.
