Green Bay mom wants answers after 3-hour baby switch
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay woman says she's still upset over a hospital mix-up that caused her to nurse the wrong newborn this summer.
Amy Amschler says St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay continues to stymie her efforts to contact the other mother. She says she wants to know who had her baby for three hours.
The hospital says privacy laws prevent it from commenting or releasing patient information.
Amschler says three St. Mary's officials came into her hospital room and told her of the mix-up. They said her son had been put in a different crib, so nurses had brought the correct crib but the wrong baby.
A WGBA-TV report says a subsequent DNA test has since confirmed that the baby Amschler has now is the correct one.
