SHS girls win streak stopped at two

The Superior High School girls hockey team had its two-game winning streak snapped with a 7-1 loss to Duluth Tuesday night at the Superior Ice Arena.

Duluth lead 4-0 after the first period and then made it 5-0 early in the second before Taylor Thompson scored Superior’s lone goal of the game with assists from Paige Gilbertson and Kali Krivinchuk.

Makayla Pitt and Sarah Runser combined to make 23 saves for Superior. Megan Hansen and Kay Henricksen had 14 saves for Duluth.

Superior is at Chippewa Falls at 7 p.m. Friday.
