Newly formed group performs Christmas Cantata
The newly formed Christmas Choral Ensemble performs at 2 pm on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 68160 S. George Street, in Iron River.
The newly formed Christmas Choral Ensemble performs at 2 pm on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 68160 S. George Street, in Iron River.
The concert is free and refreshments are served following the performance.
Being presented is “Born a Savior, Born a King” by John Purifoy. The music is a beautiful blending of familiar carols and original compositions, tied together with thoughtful narrative. In addition to the Cantata, area soloists will also perform a variety of Christmas music.
Iron River singers are being joined by vocal and instrumental musicians from Oulu, Ashland and Superior. Christmas Choral Ensemble is directed by Patty Lehman and accompanied by Vivian Markley. Instrumental soloists for “Born a Savior, Born a King” are Betty Braunstein, flute and Howard Lehman, trumpet.
