Showing reflects on Pearl Harbor attack

“Tora, Tora, Tora” was produced by Elmo Williams and directed by Richard Fleischer, Kinji Fukasaku and Toshio Masuda with stars that include Martin Balsam, Soh Yamamura and Jason Robards.

The movie is a dramatization of events prior to Dec. 7, 1941, that led to the Japanese decision to attack the United States main Pacific naval base, Pearl Harbor, in the Territory of Hawaii. The film’s climax is the attach itself in which several U.S. ships were sunk or severely damaged and American forces suffered casualties of 2,402 killed and 1,282 wounded. Japanese losses in aircraft and submarine crews amounted to 64 killed and one captured.

The movie, which is rated ‘G’ for general audiences, is free and open to the public. A pre-screening discussion of the film will begin at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at 6:45 p.m. today.
