Police arrested a 35-year-old black man around 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Mariner Mall.
According to a news release issued by Superior Police Capt. Chad La Lor, the suspect was lodged in the Douglas County Jail today on a charge of armed robbery. He is expected to make an initial appearance on the charge Monday in Douglas County Circuit Court.
In Wisconsin armed robbery is a class C felony, and upon conviction is punishable by a fine not to exceed $100,000 and 40 years imprisonment.
A woman accused of setting up the victim in the incident appears in Douglas County Circuit Court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Sage Nigithigamikwe Ross, 18, of Duluth faces a charge of armed robbery as a party to the crime.
The Telegram does not name suspects, typically, until they have been charged with a crime in court.
