Cookie bazaar
Lake Superior Lutheran Preschool hosts its annual Christmas Cookie Bazaar from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Lutheran Church of Christ the King, 4219 Grand Ave., Duluth. The event features a large variety of homemade Christmas cookies. Customers can choose their own for $7 a pound.
Book sale
Zion Lutheran Church, 2022 E. Second St., Superior, hosts a book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Stop in and shop for some good winter reading. All proceeds further ministries at Zion. The church is fully handicapped accessible. Free admission.
Iron River church offers lefse, cookies
Our Savior's Lutheran Church hosts its annual Cookie, Craft and Lefse Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the church, located at the corner of Franklin and George streets in Iron River. Browse a wonderful assortment of Christmas cookies available for purchase by the pound, rounds of freshly-made lefse and other baked goods, and craft items, Rada cutlery, greeting cards, napkins, Fair Trade Coffee, and “white elephant” items. Church youth will be selling Yule logs they made and holding raffles for an assortment of collectable dolls. The event is sponsored by the church’s women’s association.
Christmas social
Members of Bethel Lutheran Church will serve refreshments after the Superior Singers perform “Only Love” at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 5821 John Avenue. A freewill offering will support “Operation Christmas.”
Pancake breakfast
Boy Scout Troop 202 hosts its Pancake Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at United Presbyterian Church featuring pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, milk, coffee and juice. Tickets are $7 and children 5 and younger are free.
Christmas nostalgia
Relax, enjoy and remember during “A Nostalgic Christmas,” a special morning for woman at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at Bayside Baptist Church, 3915 N. 16th St. Enjoy a delightful brunch and an entertaining and encouraging musical program presented by Duluth native, Gail Walkowiak.
