USO comes alive on DCHS stage

The Douglas County Historical Society presents 1940s USO Canteen Radio Show this weekend.

The Douglas County Historical Society presents 1940s USO Canteen Radio Show this weekend.

There will be shows at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at DCHS, 1101 John Ave., Superior. Doors open one hour before each show time.

General seating tickets are $10 if purchased by 2 p.m. Friday or $12 at the door for the show that always sells out.

Each show opens with the Color Guard, and you will enjoy the ’40s era swing music by the Northland Youth Music band. Comedian Bob Hope will M.C. the evening of movie stars like Roy Rogers, Doris Day, Marlena Dietrick, Andrews Sisters and many more.

You can even enjoy the snack bar during intermission with donuts, coffee, Coca-Cola and sandwiches for a small cost.
