Cooper Elementary is organizing its eighth annual Craft Sale and Holiday Gift Basket Silent Auction Fundraiser event.
Cooper students have created handmade crafts to sell and have donated items to beautiful gift baskets to be sold in a silent auction throughout the school day Dec. 9 in the Cooper library.
All proceeds go toward purchasing Christmas gifts for families in local shelters who may otherwise not receive gifts this holiday season.
Last year, Cooper students raised more than $3,000 to purchase gifts for Superior families.
This year, they hope to raise even more so they can provide gifts to a growing number of area families in need.
Cooper students have been actively involved in this project and are learning about empathy, serving those less fortunate and making contributions to their community.
This year’s basket themes includes something for Packer fans, family fun, a snowy day, New Year’s Eve, family movie night, arts and treats, a fancy dinner, toys, family crafts, sports and local sports fans and much more.
