Superior High School’s Kaitlin Heinen finished in 24th place in the 500-yard freestyle event at Saturday’s WIAA State Swimming and Diving Meet at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium in Madison.
Heinen, a freshman, finished with a time of 5:22.29.
Natalie Johnson, a junior from Cedarburg, won the event with a time of 4:57.74. The state record is 4:48.60 set in 2008 by Aja Van Hout of Madison East.
