LETTER: Thanks to Knox box participants
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the conversation on Knox boxes over the last several months. Starting with Brad Androski, who had it brought before the City Council for review.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the conversation on Knox boxes over the last several months. Starting with Brad Androski, who had it brought before the City Council for review. Most of the City Council for recommending a committee be established, Mayor Hagen for selecting and appointing the Knox box committee members and attending many of the meetings. The committee members who gave hours of their time to listen to both sides of the issue. Members of Superior Landlord Association Program (SLAP) who attended many of these meetings over the last several months, regardless of whether the ordinance affected them or not. The businesses and landlords of Superior who took time to answer surveys whether it was mine, BIDS, Chamber of Commerce, or Dr. Miller from the East End Business District. Your input was helpful and greatly appreciated. City Council members Mick MacKenzie and Warren Bender from the Public Safety Committee who gave this issue a tremendous amount of time and effort and then supported community efforts to get the Knox box ordinance repealed, Councilor Mike Herrick who also served on the Knox box committee and was key in the recommendation of a voluntary resolution. Last but not least Councilor Dan Olson who through his relentless effort to have a voluntary resolution all of this would not have been possible.
I will leave you with this final thought our new City slogan is “Living up to our name” by listening to our citizens we are on the right track to making our city SUPERIOR.
Marty Curtiss,
Superior
