WEDDING: Meyers-EckerRobert Hugh Meyers and Mary Kathleen Ecker were married Sept. 4, 2011, at beautiful Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul with a reception, dinner and dance following the ceremony. John Lawson, Rob’s uncle, officiated the wedding.

Parents of the bride are Dr. Michael and Charlene Ecker of Sleepy Eye, Minn. Parents of the groom are Bob and Katy Meyers of Plymouth, Minn. Rob’s maternal grandparents are the late John and Barbara Lawson, lifelong Superior residents, and his paternal grandparents are the late Bill and Jean Meyers, longtime Superior residents. Mary is the granddaughter of Mercedes Ecker of St. Paul and the late Richard Ecker and, on the maternal side, the late Emil and Dolores Piskac of Omaha, Neb.
Bridesmaids were Christine and Carolyn Ecker and Katherine Myers, the bride’s sisters. Groomsmen were Pat Kelly, Todd Carber and Simeon Barry. The flower girl was Alexandria Myers, niece of the bride.
Musicians were Barbara Jean Johnson, sister of the groom, and Erika Kelly. Brax Soderman and Allison Sharkey Simpkins gave special readings.
Mary graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a major in anthropology and earned a master’s degree in Museum Studies at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Rob graduated with honors from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla., with majors in chemistry and computer science and earned a juris doctor degree summa cum laude at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minn.
Mary is working for the American Association for State and Local History. Rob recently started his second year as a law clerk for the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Nashville, Tenn. Both the bride and groom are happy to call Nashville their home.
