Harvest festival
Trinity Episcopal Church, 4903 Maple Grove Road, Hermantown, holds its annual Harvest Festival 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the church hall. Homemade jams, jellies, preserves, relishes and baked goods will be available, and a quilt and afghan will be raffled. Call (218) 729-7957.
Meatball supper
The annual Meatball Supper at St. Anthony Church, 4315 E. Third St., runs 4-7 p.m. Saturday. Adults are $8, children 12 and younger are $5, and preschoolers are free. Take outs are available and deliveries will be made to homebound adults within the city limits. The church is handicap acceptable.
Northland fall
The Peace Church, 1111 N. 11th Ave. E., is the place to be this Saturday for a new local art & gift fair Fall for the Northland. More than 20 local artists will have very cool things — ranging from birch bark and other jewelry, whimsical pottery, books, nature photography, things made of recycled items, water colors, and much more. There will also be a working blacksmith and win a free pumpkin if you take a Duluth history quiz. Learn about local wildlife and about Skyline Parkway. The fair runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dinner, bake sale
Faith United Methodist Church, 1531 Hughitt Ave., hold its Ham Dinner and Bake Sale 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday featuring ham, mashed potatoes, carrots, coleslaw, rolls, raisin sauce, applesauce and dessert. The church is handicap accessible. Tickets may be purchased from church members, at the church office or call (715) 394-9608. Tickets are $8 adults, $4 children ages 5-12, children 4 and younger are free. Call ahead for pre-ordered take-outs.
King’s Men
King’s Men meet at 6:45 a.m. Thursday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap St., Superior, for breakfast, fellowship and a presentation. Speakers talk about individual and community concerns especially as they relate to Christian faith in daily life. A free will offering is received for the meal, and the morning is complete no later than 7:30 a.m. The speaker for October is Douglas County Circuit Court Judge Kelly Thimm. All men of the community are invited to attend. Call ahead at (715) 392-4731, if possible, but drop-ins are always welcome.
