On Thursday, the Northwestern High School volleyball team will host a Play for Pink match at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The varsity volleyball team will scrimmage coaches as well as some other special guest players (teachers and community members).
There is no entrance fee, but spectators are asked to donate to the fight against breast cancer. There will be a 50/50 raffle, and anyone wearing pink will be entered in a drawing to win door prizes.
In recent volleyball action, the Tigers fell to Hayward 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 27-25) on Sept. 29.
Ally May led Northwestern with 13 kills and 9 digs. Sara Miller had 14 digs for NHS, and Aliex Friend added 13 set assists.
The Tigers now hold a 3-14 record overall and a 2-4 record in Heart O’ North Conference play.
