MADISON (AP) — Police in Madison have given a Nebraska football player a $326 ticket for damaging an airport paper towel dispenser after the Cornhuskers were beaten 48-17 by Wisconsin over the weekend.
A sheriff's spokeswoman says 19-year-old redshirt freshman Chase Rome was with the team in the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison early Sunday, waiting to return to Lincoln, when he damaged a dispenser in a restroom.
The spokeswoman says she has no details on what Rome did. The sheriff's department cited Rome, who was not arrested and boarded the plane with the rest of the team.
Nebraska spokesman Keith Mann says the coaching staff dealt with the situation but would not disclose what, if any, disciplinary action was taken.
Rome had one tackle and assisted on another against Wisconsin.
