Officer hurt when woman allegedly rear ends squad

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay woman has been jailed after police say she rear-ended a squad car in Ashwaubenon and injured the officer inside.

Police say the crash happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday while Officer Jeff Everetts was making a traffic stop. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital. where he was treated for head and arm injuries.

The 23-year-old woman was taken to the Brown County Jail on suspicion of causing injury while driving drunk.

In Milwaukee, a bicycle patrol officer was struck by a car Saturday. Police say he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The 84-year-old driver of the auto was ticketed for failure to yield.
