MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers plan to celebrate clinching their first division title in 29 years with a free public event.
The Brewers Playoff Rally will be held Thursday at the Summerfest grounds along Milwaukee's lakefront.
All the Brewers players and coaches and even some alumni are expected to appear. The bands Pan Am and Five for Fighting will also perform.
The Brewers beat the Florida Marlins 4-1 on Friday night to win the NL Central.
Milwaukee captured the AL East in 1982 and reached the World Series that year, losing to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.
