Superior police warn public of increase in daytime residential burglaries

The Superior Police Department is warning the public to stay alert to activity in city neighborhoods.

The police department has received several residential burglary reports recently. The burglaries occurred during daytime hours and have taken place throughout the city, according to a news release issued by Sgt. Derrick Hughes.

Entry to the homes is usually forced and items taken from within. Some of those items include electronics, cameras, collector coins, jewelry and cash.

It is unknown if the incidents are related but the Superior Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying those involved.

Citizens should be extra observant and keep an eye on their neighbor’s homes if they when they can. The public is asked to call 911 if they observe any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhoods.
