Wisconsin Public Radio stations KUWS 91.3 -FM in Superior and WUWS 90.9FM in Ashland will broadcast “9/11: A Community Remembers” at 7 p.m. Monday.

The program features personal accounts and memories of the 9/11 tragedy from educators, journalists, public safety workers, and others from around the Chequamegon Bay area.

“People remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard about the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and crash of United Airlines Flight 93,” says Danielle Kaeding, producer of the program and station manager at WRNC-LP at Northland College in Ashland. “This program gives a voice to the shared experience of Chequamegon Bay area residents and how 9/11 has impacted the nation and world in the last decade.”

The program will be broadcast from 90.9 WUWS in Ashland on its first full day of operation. Northland College radio station 97.7 WRNC-LP will also broadcast the program at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

“This is a great example of the partnership between Wisconsin Public Radio and Northland College,” says KUWS News Director Mike Simonson. “It’s an important public service to the people of Chequamegon Bay, to the people of Northern Wisconsin, and with this documentary, to our country and the heroes of 9/11.”
