The Hayward Hurricanes continued to roll through Heart O’ North Conference competition Monday, earning wins over the Northwestern Tigers and Chetek Bulldogs in a meet at Hayward.
Hayward golfers swept the top five individual places as the Hurricanes finished with a team score of 165. Northwestern finished second with 203, and Chetek finish third with 230.
“The Tigers’ team score of 203 is our lowest 9-hole total of the year and continues to demonstrate the steady play and determination of the team,” said Tiger head coach Steve High.
Northwestern is now 8-2 in conference play, with both losses come to Hayward (9-0).
Ashley Hansen of Hayward was the meet medalist with a 40, while teammates Emilee McCusker and Brittany Neff both finished with 41s.
Leading the Tigers was Molly Lattery with a 49. Abby Schulz carded a 50, Gwen LaPole and Reggie Semanko each carded a 52 and Macy Meteraud shot a non-counting 60.
Northwestern is back in action today with a match at Superior.
