Wooden boats highlight of festival

The 13th annual Lake Superior Wooden Boat Festival runs 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 30 at Barker’s Island Marina.

The 13th annual Lake Superior Wooden Boat Festival runs 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 30 at Barker’s Island Marina.

The show is the largest wooden and classic boat show on Lake Superior and features vintage and new boats of all kinds — pulling boats, runabouts, power boats, sailboats, canoes and kayaks.

The public can vote in four classes, plus “Best of Festival.” The festival, which includes live music, is free.
