Kernz & Kompany and the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center, and KIA of Duluth host the first ever Military Vehicle Show on Aug. 20 at 305 Harborview Parkway.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features vehicles from regional collectors and active U.S. Army vehicles from active duty Army and Minnesota and Wisconsin Army National Guard units.

The public will get a close-up view of vintage and modern equipment including an M4 Sherman tank, an LVT amphibious ‘Water Buffalo’ and many other examples of military hardware from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War and modern military vehicles.

“We are very honored to be able to produce an event like this and bring it to our region,” said Ryan Kern, Kernz & Kompany president, who also produces the Duluth Airshow. “There is a need for this sort of event in our community. It’s an event with historical and educational significance.” He said he views the event as a learning tool for those interested in the military and the nation’s history.

Military vehicle owners who wish to participate should contact the Bong Veterans Center to register by Aug. 12. Forms are available at the center, or contact info@bvhcenter.org or (715) 392-7151. Registration is free.

Spectator admission to the show is $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 12-17, and includes admission to the veterans center museum. Food vendors and educational activities are also planned.
