Superior: Barker’s Island Farmers’ Market runs 8 a.m. to noon near the SS Meteor, rain or shine.

Lake Nebagamon: The second annual Firewise Fun Day at the Highland Fire Department and Town Hall runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fire hall is located at 9360 S. County S. Crafters and flea market vendors welcome. Call Marvin at (715) 816-4185. There will be children and adult games, a rummage sale, food and pop, and raffles with drawings at 3 p.m.

Superior: Lake Superior Greens hosts Hands Across the Sand at noon on Wisconsin Point to call attention to the need to protect the nation’s waterways. The event will be held near the first parking lot.

Superior: Sustenance Artisan Breads, 1323 Broadway St. Suite 150 is donating a portion of Saturday’s sales proceeds to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60 mile walk. Delicious bakery items are for sale. Stop by to donate toward breast cancer research.

Duluth: American Legion Post 71 hosts the Mike Colalillo Scholarship dinner to raise money for an ongoing scholarship awarded annually to history students in St. Louis County. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. with the dinner between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion West Duluth Post 71, 5814 Grand Ave.

Sunday

Saginaw: The newly formed Finlandia Foundation Northland chapter plans to recreate a Finnish Juhannus (midsummer celebration) 3-7 p.m. on Little Grand Lake, 7095 Saginaw Road. The free, family-friendly event features traditional and contemporary Finnish activities and games.

Monday

Duluth: La Leche League of Duluth offers a monthly playgroup 10 a.m. to noon at First United Methodist Church. Babies and children of all ages welcome. Brule: Marshfield Clinic’s Mobile Screening Unit will offer digital mammography screenings 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cenex Store, 13995 U.S. Highway 2.
