MADISON, Wis. — Protesters are being removed from the Wisconsin Legislature’s budget committee for a second day as the panel works to finish Gov. Scott Walker’s two-year spending plan.

About 15 were removed one by one within the first 30 minutes of the Joint Finance Committee meeting on Friday. About 30 were taken out Thursday.

Audience members were warned before the meeting started that anyone who causes a disruption would be removed and could face disorderly conduct charges. Many of those were removed after reading a statement in opposition to Walker’s budget, made other derogatory comments or recited the Declaration of Independence.

Audience members also intermittently broke into song during the meeting, which was expected to be the last before the committee sends the budget to the full Legislature.
